Paynesville is located 16 Kms from Bairnsdale on the Gippsland Lakes and has much to offer for a relaxing holiday, and long history of a quiet little village known for its fishing and boating.
Population is approx. 5000 people, many who have decided to retire and enjoy the area.
There is a regular 20x car Ferry service across the narrow straight to Raymond Island. Raymond Island is proud of its boardwalk to view the koalas, kangaroos, and bird life. The ferry is free to pedestrians, bikes, and wheelchairs, but about $12 return for cars.
Paynesville has wheelchair friendly access corner kerb cuts around the town and along the beach front are paths and boardwalks and the Gippsland Lakes Yacht Club and Motor Cruiser Club, both are wheelchair accessible too.
